When people give me free reign to pick any location that I think would be best in Richmond, there are so many ideas that come to mind! There’s Church Hill, Shockhoe Bottom, The Tredegar, Belle Isle, Maymont, Byrd Park, Rocketts Landing, Main Street… and CARYTOWN! Somehow I always forget about Carytown and to be honest, I can’t remember the last time I photographed an engagement session there!
So when Heather mentioned that she thought they would like something more “urban” since they are getting married in the rolling hills of Charlottesville, I immediately thought of Carytown! I drove down a little early to scout out some new hidden gems and I was successful. These two were up for anything. Sitting on other people’s door steps didn’t phase them at all! Those are my kind of people! :) They just wanted unique, urban inspired portraits and that’s exactly what we found in Carytown!
Heather and Rob have known each other for a long time…. like, since their high school days. However, it wasn’t until a little over a year ago that they realized that they would make the most perfect couple! From their looks to their laughs…. these two are the perfect pair. Seriously, they just look awesome together…. and what you may not realize is just HOW TALL these two are! They qualify for model status FOR SURE! When both the bride and the groom are tall, they just end up looking average height in portraits. I wish I had taken a picture with them so you all could see just how short I look compared to them!
We used their height in our favor during their shoot and I couldn’t be more thrilled with how these turned out! Rob and Heather are a perfect example of how you don’t need modeling experience to be able to look like you just stepped off of the run way! They’re just an overall gorgeous couple and I can’t wait for you to see my favorites from their downtown Richmond engagement session!
Thank you Carytown for providing houses that matched!
Oh you two!
Oh I love this one!
That RING!
Another favorite!
Down to the river we go!
I’ll admit it…. I’m proud of that little reflection:)
Kelly is an incredible wedding photographer who has been shooting 90 weddings a year. I know, it sounds unbelievable, but it’s true! Kelly’s success and the volume of work she handles is truly impressive.
Your sessions should be working FOR you not against you!
Shooting in manual mode might seem complex and overwhelming at first but there is an easier way!
