Michael and I started driving up to NYC on Thursday evening and we realized that the Pope was going to be in New York the same time as us! We normally fly into NYC but because we had a NJ engagement that night and a Baltimore wedding the next day, we drove!! Whew! Driving through NYC isn’t for the faint of heart. Thank goodness for Michael! I can’t remember the last time we got lost. He’s so great at being our travel guru! So we made it to the financial district, spent the night and then headed over the Brooklyn Bridge before the sun rose the next day!
As we walked up the staircase to the Brooklyn Bridge’s pedestrian walkway, the sky turned a gorgeous shade of lavender and the sun started peaking over the horizon! It was perfect timing! We met up with John and Kate and they were such pros. It’s hard to learn poses and get comfortable on a bridge with cars rushing by and bikers constantly coming around every turn but they did it! My one goal for the shoot was to have a gorgeous horizontal shot of the bridge that showed the skyline and we got it! I was so thankful for great light, a great couple and a relatively calm morning on the Brooklyn Bridge!
John and Kate are getting married in 2016 and we can’t wait to celebrate with them at one of favorite Charlottesville wedding venues… Pippin Hill! It’s going to be so beautiful! My favorite thing about these two is their ability to laugh at each other…. constantly. It’s easy to photograph two people who genuinely have a great time with each other. We loved our time with them Friday morning and we’re already counting down the days until the wedding!!
Enjoy this brand new NYC engagement session!!!
