You saw my “Best of Weddings 2013”. Today I’m posting the “Best of Engagements”! It’s really interesting to think about what I consider a “good image” these days. My goal several years ago was to define my style more and more with every shoot. Engagement sessions were my time to do that. During an eshoot I have control, time, and complete freedom to be creative. Well now that I have a pretty defined style, the challenge is to continue to perfect my work without growing stale…. and that’s actually very hard to do. I know the formula.
I can create a beautiful image in almost any situation based on what I’ve learned that last 5-6 years….. the trick is being able to take pieces of the formula and still try new things. I know that sometimes I need to change it up… try something weird… explain a pose in a different way… use a lens I NEVER use for portraits, etc. So here are some of the images that I’m proud of from 2013. Not all of them are completely unique or “out of the box” but they are all shots that make me remember why I still love photography. Someone once asked me “Do you ever look at images and think “Hey! I created that!”?” ….. These are the images that make me feel that way!! Enjoy everyone!!
Kelly is an incredible wedding photographer who has been shooting 90 weddings a year. I know, it sounds unbelievable, but it’s true! Kelly’s success and the volume of work she handles is truly impressive.
