This past weekend we headed up to State College, PA to spend the weekend with my sister, Emy and her husband Joe! We drove up with Corey and Morgan (my brother and his fiancée!) and stayed for three days! We had a blast, but we also had a lot to accomplish! I took a few maternity pictures for Emy and then we took engagement pictures of Corey and Morgan! We planned it perfectly, because we really only had one evening of clear skies while we were up there and we did their session that evening! Well, I take that back, we did ONE part of their engagement session that evening!
When you’re taking your brother’s engagement pictures, you can do whatever you want! So we broke up their session into two parts. The first part was in the rolling hills of State College, PA and the second part was at Handley High school in Winchester, Va. My brother grew up in Caroline County and Morgan grew up in Virginia Beach… so why did we drive to Winchester and more specifically to Handley High School for the second part of their session? Well, let me explain! Corey is engaged to the daughter of one of my dad’s closest friends from high school and childhood. When Daddy lost his parents in his late teens it was friends like Greg and his family who helped him keep going. Greg and Daddy went to Handley High School together and have stayed friends through college, through their early married years, through the young kids phase and now that their kids are grown up, they are still good friends and their kids are getting MARRIED!!! We jokingly say that we’re going to arrange for our little girl to marry Buddy and Jill’s little boy because really, how awesome would it be to be related to your best friends?! That’s what Daddy and Greg get to experience!!!
The SECOND reason why we took their pictures at Handley High School is because Daddy proposed to Momma on the Handley steps over 33 years ago!! Needless to say, this is a very special place and it only made sense that we would take some of their portraits there!!
Corey has always been so loved by everyone. He’s sweet, kind, thoughtful and cares so much about other people. He’s also innovative, passionate and talented in so many ways. He sings, flies airplanes, he’s a mechanic, he loves his family, golf, farming, 4-wheeling, being on his boat… he’s just the best guy. He’s the best brother a sister could ask for. He loves me and Emy so much and even though he doesn’t quite know what do to with us since we’ve become pregnant (it kinda weirds him out!) …. we know that he’s going to be the most amazing uncle. Basically, what I’m saying is that he is a CATCH!! I remember my college roommates saying (when I say everyone loves Corey… EVERYONE loves Corey:) that whoever Corey marries is going to be one lucky girl and they are right!
However, Morgan isn’t the only lucky one. Corey found a soulmate who is wired just like him in so many ways. They just get each other…. and yet Morgan has so many qualities that Corey needs in his life! For example… she’s VERY organized! Corey hit the jackpot there!! Morgan loves the Lord, she loves kids, her family and she has the best way of making absolutely anyone feel loved and cared for. We prayed for Corey to find a girl who was his biggest cheerleader and brought out the best in him, and Morgan does just that. We are so excited to have her in our family and I cannot wait to introduce these two to you via pictures!!!
I know I’ve written a novel, but I just have so much to say about these two! We love them and we cannot WAIT for the wedding in MAY!!!!!! ah!!!!
A year ago, we promised to find a solution for those who were complaining about their R6 raw files looking dull and lifeless in Lightroom. However, due to various circumstances, we couldn’t deliver on that promise until now.
Kelly is an incredible wedding photographer who has been shooting 90 weddings a year. I know, it sounds unbelievable, but it’s true! Kelly’s success and the volume of work she handles is truly impressive.
Your sessions should be working FOR you not against you!
