She was known in college for having a contagious joy about her and that’s one of the reasons I loved being around her. Steph and I lived together for three years in college and so I got to experience her joy every day. Some days were obviously more joyful than others but even on the days that weren’t great, I always loved being with her. There’s just something about her…. some would say that it’s her smile or her laugh but I think her dad was spot on when he said that everyone LOVES Steph because they see Jesus in her. He toasted to the newlyweds and barely got his words out. You could tell he wasn’t just emotional about giving away his eldest daughter…. he was choked up because he was thankful for how faithful God has been in Steph’s life!
I always get teary when dads toast to their kids on wedding days but this one made me extra weepy because I love this sweet family so much! You may recognize some familiar faces in this post because it wasn’t that long ago that Steph’s sister Caitlin got married!! Carter and Steph may win the award for being the most CHILL couple that we’ve had in a LONG time. They did such a great job of just enjoying their day and not letting the little things steal their joy. When I say the little things… I really just mean ONE THING…. WIND. It was SO WINDY!!! The bridesmaids couldn’t even see in front of their face because their hair was blowing around so much. We did their bridal party portraits in RECORD TIME and honestly, it was an exhilarating part of the day! Just know that when you see these bridal party shots, we FOUGHT HARD for these images!!!
Their day was perfect! My favorite parts were when Steph saw her dad for the first time….and when she came down the beautiful aisle of their amazing old church…. and photographing all of the bridesmaid’s dresses!! It was such a fun day! I love Carter and I love how happy he makes my sweet friend. Steph, you were an absolutely stunning bride. I’ve always known that you would look incredible on your wedding day but you were breathtaking!! I loved being the one who got to capture it all and I love you dearly. I’m so happy for you two and this new adventure that you just started and I can’t wait to see all that God does through your marriage!!! Happy Honeymooning!!!!
