to fly by. Before I knew it, I was standing outside the back doors of our church watching my bridesmaids enter the sanctuary to head down the aisle, one by one. Brit, then Steph, then Caroline, then Emy…. the music grew louder and louder and then it was my turn. The moment when I turned the corner and saw you at the end of the aisle didn’t even seem real. I get chills just thinking about it. Some days I still can’t believe that I ended up being the girl that got to walk down the aisle to you. The music played and tears were shed…. our ceremony was awesome. The whole DAY was AWESOME!! However, I’m realizing more and more that anniversaries aren’t just about remembering our wedding day, they are more about celebrating our MARRIAGE. And as AWESOME as 10.10.10 was, someone told me AT our wedding reception that our best is yet to come. Two years afterwards, I truly believe that. Our wedding was wonderful but it wasn’t our BEST…. our best is still waiting for us…. and that’s exciting!!
I think you and I would both agree that we don’t have a vision of what our next 5, 10 or 20 years are going to look like… and I’m ok with that. I’m ok with having unknowns in our life as long as I’m doing life with YOU. Michael you are more than I deserve…. I’m so grateful that even before we were dating, I never knew life without you. You have grown from my middle school choir buddy, to high school boyfriend, to my BEST friend and not you’ve been my husband for TWO years!! And I’m so thankful. I’m thankful for the way you serve me, the way you know what I need sometimes more than I do and I’m thankful that you have so much grace with me on my bad days. Thank you for loving me… good days and bad. Thank you for being not only my best friend but also my companion. I love you so so much and I thank God for you. Happy anniversary:):)
