It’s no secret that I am a natural light photographer! I’m not the biggest fan of flash.
However!
I do not always have the option of shooting in natural light so I HAVE to know how to use my flash confidently and consistently!!
I have used this system for over a DECADE and I’m excited to share!
-my basic setup of my off camera flash + shoot through umbrella, bare off-camera flash and on-camera flash
-advantages of using 2 off camera flashes
-my placement throughout the reception to achieve the look I desire with off-camera flash
-the camera settings that I like to get that glowy look in ambient light
-And when it’s time to change up your placement of umbrella as the events shift throughout the evening!
If you ever get overwhelmed by flash, you’ll want to tune in today!!!

Marketing for a wedding photography business isn’t just different—it’s in a league of its own.
I’ll never forget the morning I woke up for my very first wedding.
It’s spring break. Which, for many people, might mean rest and reset. But in our world right now? It feels more like we’re standing in the middle of a winding, messy, beautiful chapter of our own Hero’s Journey—and the stretch is very, very real.
This week has been… a lot.
Personally, professionally, and spiritually, I’ve felt stretched, unsettled, and oddly grateful—all at the same time.
There’s something about spring that just feels like change.
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you’re editing photos late at night, maybe sprawled out on the couch or even in bed? You feel like you’re on a roll, everything looks fantastic, and then morning hits.
