brides say this all the time “we just don’t have the budget for details”. Well after this post that will not be a valid excuse! There are so many little ways to make your day unique without spending $4,000 on centerpieces! That’s just ridiculous. I actually PREFER to shoot DIY weddings over large budget weddings because there is so much more character shown through those details. When a bride gets creative, it automatically makes her wedding day unique to her. DIY projects are the way to go! Today I’m going to explain how easy it is to create awesome labels that fit your theme and can really take a display from just ok to AMAZING!
I’ll show you how one $14.99 purchase created awesome details that were displayed all OVER the Sugar Shoot! Basically, I found this paper punch (found at any craft store…even Target has some!) I found mine at Hobby Lobby….such a scary place for my wallet! This is the main ingredient for this craft project! Here are the other items you’ll need! :
.
Hot Glue Gun
Wooden Skewers (Walmart: $2.99)
Cardstock Paper
A color printer
Microsoft Word or Photoshop, etc.
.
So this is super easy! Basically, create a design in Microsoft Word, Photoshop…. you could even use PAINT for all I care! Anything that allows you to create text and color will work. If you have a monogram for your wedding, this would be the perfect time to use it! Create some type of note or design and print two copies of it on Cardstock paper (heavy paper). Then PUNCH both designs out with your handy little puncher! Now you have two identical labels! Next, put them back to back and glue the wooden skewer in between them! Wa-la! You have an adorable little detail for your wedding day! Wasn’t that EASY?! And was less than $20! These are great for escort cards, favor tags, etc!
.
The possibilities for these punched labels are endless! Here are some examples from the Sugar Shoot! Ps. If you don’t want to buy the PUNCHER…. you can cut your designs out yourself… that is how I created the heart shaped signs below!
Oh where do I begin? This wasn’t just another wedding for me. This was a legacy KJ Wedding and I have been looking forward to it ever since my first email from Danny and Megan!
I’m really excited about this YouTube video because I know that it resonates with ALL photographers who photograph PEOPLE!!
Have you ever walked into a client experience and realized “oh wow, this is not what I was expecting?” ….
