Year end reviews can be SO helpful to get different ideas on what has or hasn’t worked in your business! SO I’ll dive right in to what our life looked like in 2022 and what did/ didn’t work for us!

With growing our family and 3 kids under 5, I have scaled back on the weddings/ family sessions I have taken on! This was a huge win for us. Right now, our business is 90% online education and 10% shooting! Sometimes it is necessary to scale back.

Some other wins in 2022 :

• Youtube was a big success this year! We grew our audience of people who need help to have a purposeful business.
• Consistency has been working! We switched to a Youtube episode every other week and a Podcast episode on the off weeks.
• I love doing Family Sessions!! It was enjoyable, challenging and creative for me.
• Starting a school! This has been a HUGE undertaking and it has been so fun to see these kids grow and find their passions.
• Childcare pivots.. There’s 6 kids between my sister & I, and my mom was out for 2 different seasons with surgery! We had to take risks and hire people in our tribe to watch our children!
• KJ Mastermind! This has been amazing for me.. I needed a way to be challenged and creative to help other business owners!

It can be so easy to look at a bad outcome and call it quits, but sometimes all you need is a pivot!

But there are sometimes that you do need to realize something didn’t work for you and how to change it!! So let’s dive in to that..

What didn’t work in 2022 :

• Cooking at home! This might seem like a little thing.. but it’s a bummer and not healthy, but eating out was just a reset for our family at the end of the day! With Michael being at the school all day, I am now in charge of groceries and meal planning, which isn’t my thing!! SO we have been very flexible about what our dinners look like.
• Another thing that didn’t work.. the Peloton! I was consistent until July, but once life got busy, I had to put this on the back burner.. So I’m looking forward to being more consistent after I’m in the clear!
• My Trello board.. When I have too much going on, I don’t prioritize my organization system but rather do what is right in front of me! It becomes a survival technique rather than checking things off the list.. but we’re moving our lists to Asana to try something new in 2023!
• My family photo organization system! I have a hard drive with all of our family photos for 2022 saved on it, but I have lost it SO many times.. I need a better system!

Overall, my list for what didn’t work is encouraging to me and seems attainable to make some pivots in 2023! So what’s next?! Listen to the rest of the episode to find out!
