How to Find a Mentor | Guest Post by Jasmine Star

  • Ask Anything

Last week after my surgery, my sweet friend Abby Grace texted me and offered to curate some blog content for my blog since I physically can’t blog like I used to. I’ve tried… but using “talk to text” takes forever because of the mixture of auto-correct and my southern accent!!! Most of you know that blogging has been the heartbeat of my business for years and years. I’ve blogged religiously every week since 2008 with only a few exceptions. Well, during the last two months, that all changed. Between doctors appointments, moving and finding out about my hand tumor and surgery, blogging just wasn’t a priority. It couldn’t be. Now I’m learning to function with one hand and I couldn’t be more grateful for Abby and her willingness to help us create great posts for our audience!

A Shower & An Update

  • Thankful for Friends & No Pain

I don’t think there is any coincidence that we had over 45 of our dearest friends gathering at our house this past Sunday. Once we found out that my surgery was going to be on Tuesday and that the tumor in my hand was more aggressive than we had originally thought, we thought about cancelling our last baby shower but that idea was short-lived. I’m so glad that we didn’t cancel because being surrounded by our sweet friends was exactly what we needed before entering into a week of unknowns! I’m so thankful for Jill and Steph! They threw me this shower and it was so perfect in every way.

When Being One in a Million isn’t Cool

  • Life Update & Prayer Request

There has been a lot going on in our life behind the scenes…beyond moving and pregnancy and gestational diabetes. Ever since I got pregnant in the early summer, I had noticed that my right index finger was a little swollen around the knuckle. It didn’t bother me at all really. I googled it… like every pregnant woman does and shouldn’t do… and I found that pregnancy induced carpal tunnel is very common in the joints, so I didn’t worry about it. It continued to get worse, and I did wonder why it was only happening in one joint when all of the cases I had read about online were in the wrists, ankles or entire hands and feet.
