The Beautiful Side of Change

  • Walking into a New Season

There have been so many times the last three months when I’ve said “Shoot! I need to get a blog post up!” and I have every intention of doing it but it doesn’t happen. When it doesn’t happen, I start to think of how much of a hypocrite I am because I have PREACHED that BLOGGING CONSISTENTLY and having consistency in your business is the KEY to success…. and here I am not doing it. Well, a dear friend of mine recently told me “Katelyn… you don’t have to blog like you used to because you put in the time… you dedicated yourself to blogging daily for 8 YEARS and now it’s ok for things to change”. What? Change?! Things don’t need to CHANGE!! I just need to get off maternity leave and then I’ll be back at it…. right???

There is nothing more rewarding than taking what we have learned over the last 9 years in business, teaching it to photographers and then hearing about their success stories!!! That’s why even though we’re technically still on “maternity leave”, one of our very first things that we’re doing is hosting a FREE CLASS ON POSING!!! You’re probably thinking that I’m going to be talking about chin tilts and arm angles but that’s not going to solve any real issues.

5 Mental Reminders for Photographers on Wedding Days

  • Ask Anything

Wedding season is upon us! It feels like spring outside and so maybe that’s what inspired this post! I start shooting again at the end of April, and I’m so excited about it! I’ve had a break since November and even though we’ve had some MAJOR life events happen those few months off, I’m ready to get back to work again! Moving, having a baby and being surprised by an emergency surgery have made me so grateful for this season where we committed to slow down! Slowing down does a lot of good for the mind AND the heart. And this is true not only in seasons of life but it’s also true on a day-to-day basis!
