  • Our 11th Valentines Day

This is our 11th Valentine’s day together. I’ll be honest, I don’t remember EVERY Valentines we’ve shared… but I remember a few. There was that year that I was a junior in high school and Michael was in college. I was having a tough time and he knew that. I missed him and high school just wasn’t the same without him. I remember walking through the halls that day and seeing everyone with flowers and bears and chocolate. Girls were talking to their boyfriends as classes would change and I just wanted the day to be over. I never understood how annoying Valentines day could be until my “Valentine” wasn’t around anymore.

  • The New House

that the next time I blogged about the new house project, we would actually have a HOUSE! …. and I wasn’t lying! It’s here!!! I can’t believe it but it’s all framed and the majority of the windows are in! If the rain holds out today, we’ll probably see shingles by tomorrow! It’s a CRAZY feeling to watch a house start to take shape…. it’s even crazier when it’s YOURS and you’ve never done this before. When they were framing it and the trusses were being set, It seemed so surreal. The pictures really don’t do it justice. We are so thankful that we’ve been around the last 3 weeks and have been able to take daily visits!! Everyday there is something NEW!

Here it is…. my first, somewhat in depth post about editing. It’s not that I don’t want to share how I edit, I really don’t mind at all. HOWEVER, I am fearful of showing newer photographers EXACTLY what I do because part of the development of my style came from learning on my own. When I first started shooting, someone told me about ACTIONS. They were magical to me. Absolutely magical. With the touch of a button in Photoshop, my blues were bluer, my greens were greener and my images were BETTER!!!…. Or so I thought.
