A Snowden Garden Wedding | Fredericksburg Wedding Photographer

  • Matt + Katherine

She has got to be, hands down, the most EXCITED bride I’ve worked with in 2013! Katherine’s excitement for her wedding day is just amazing! From the ceremony planning to the intricate details of her reception, she planned it all with so much joy!! When I arrived on the big day, she was surrounded by her best friends in a hotel room that smelled of hairspray and perfume. Dresses were being steamed, hair was being curled, makeup was being applied and then all of a sudden, Katherine walks in from the other room in tears. Like any good bridesmaid would do, the girls immediately “Whats wrong?!” and Kat just laughs and says “It just hit me all at once!”. The reality of what was about to happen was becoming very REAL! Kathryn was just a few short hours away from marrying the love of her life and high school sweetheart! Kat was the little girl dreaming of her wedding day and now it was finally here!!

A Millenium Park Engagement Shoot | Chicago

  • Patrick + Anna Maria | Engaged

with a simple post on Facebook. I was traveling out to Chicago to shoot my cousin’s engagement session and I mentioned it on my KJP Facebook page. Literally a few hours later, I received an email from Anna Maria asking if there was ANY way that they could have their engagements done in Chicago too! I’m shooting Patrick and Anna’s wedding in Fredericksburg, VA this fall and we had scheduled an engagement for Virginia in June. However, when Anna Maria heard I was coming to Chicago, she just had to ask and see if this could work out! …. Well, it did!! We found a way to coordinate our schedules

Preparing for an Eshoot

  • Ask Anything

really hard to believe that I have NEVER posted a blog post about how to prep for your engagement session. To be honest, I think the reason I have never posted about this is because I have never needed to. My brides are really good about picking out outfits and letting their groom know what to expect. However, I have received several emails from other photographers asking how I prep my couples for engagements and so I thought a blog post may be helpful for not only photographers but for brides as well!
