Ted + Candi | Engaged

  • A Train Inspired Engagement Shoot | Roanoke, Virginia Wedding Photographer

You want to know what I love? I love it when couples do something unique for their engagement session! Not only do I love it when they select unique locations and ideas for their shoot, I also love it when these ideas and locations have sentimental value. Candi emailed me and shared her engagement session idea, and I loved it. Her family has a long history of working for the railroad. For generations, this industry has been a part of her family’s livelihood and a huge part of their story as well. It was a perfect idea to do their shoot at the Virginia Transportation Museum in Roanoke, Virginia. Candi’s cousin let us into the museum and gave us some behind the scenes access to historic engines, and it was so cool to see these massive machines up close and personally!

What I’ve Learned from Not Blogging

  • Ask Anything

If you have followed my business for any amount of time, you know that I used to be the blogging QUEEN! I mean, I blogged EVERY week day for close to EIGHT years. Wow. It was quite a commitment….but it was a commitment that was well worth it. The growth that I experienced during those years of blogging was amazing. However, things changed once my first pregnancy took an interesting turn. I literally almost lost a part of my right hand due to a pregnancy-induced tumor that needed to be surgically removed.

Jazz Nativity 2018

Can you believe that I have been blogging about our church’s JAZZ NATIVITY for 8 YEARS now?! 8 YEARS. That just blows my mind. I couldn’t remember all of the songs that I’ve sung if I tried! It all seems like a beautiful blur. This has been one of my favorite traditions since Michael and I got married. If you’re thinking this is your standard church “Christmas program”, think again! Jazz Nativity is far from anything you’ve probably ever seen a church do during Christmas season… especially a church in the suburbs!
