As I was talking to Dan and Kathleen’s planner while shooting their gorgeous reception details, she mentioned that she liked to call the style of this wedding “Kate Spade meets Charleston” and I couldn’t agree more. This gorgeous day had Kathleen’s style written all over it and it was simply stunning. There wasn’t a detail left undone. As I was shooting all of Kathleen’s Kate Spade inspired bridal details, I knew that this was going to be one beautiful wedding day! And it was! Dan and Kathleen were married at the historic Dahlgren Chapel on the campus of Georgetown University. This quaint little church is situated right in the heart of campus. As we arrived to the ceremony, the bag piper was already playing and a few guests were starting to arrive. Anytime there is a bag pipe player, the ceremony seems extra epic to me!
There’s just something so timeless and classic about that sound! Before we knew it, the guests had all arrived and taken their seats and it was time for the ceremony!! Over 150 friends and family gathered in this little chapel to watch their loved ones commit to a lifetime of love. As the guests walked to the front for communion, Dan and Kathleen smiled as they watched their closest friends and family walk past. I’ve said it before but one of my FAVORITE parts of my wedding day was having ALL of the people I love most in ONE place!!
Dan and Kathleen had an amazing ceremony and their reception was equally as awesome! The Army Navy Country Club is stunning! Michael and I had never shot there before and so this was a real treat!! Dan spun, dipped and kissed his new bride throughout the night and it was just perfect. These two were on cloud nine and rightfully so. Enjoy this pretty, preppy, and PINK wedding day! It may just be a new favorite for all of you southern, Kate Spade fans out there!! Dan and Kathleen, it was SUCH an honor to be a part of your day!! Enjoy reliving it through your images!!
